Meet our Team Members at Scripps Ranch

Denise Calvaruso

Denise began working at Scripps Ranch Veterinary Hospital in early 2005, after moving here from Eagle River, Alaska. Denise previously had 25 years experience in "people" medicine before starting her career in veterinary medicine. She is the proud mother of Alicia, Jonathan and Robbie. She shares her home with a rescue dog named Cassidy, and an adopted Jack Russell Terrier that she calls Buster Lu.
 

Sandy Pomraning, RVT

Sandi is a native San Diegan who graduated from UCSD with a degree in Biology. She has been a Registered Veterinary Technician since 1994, and has been with Scripps Ranch Veterinary Hospital since late 2002. She enjoys skiing, rock climbing, traveling, cooking, and has recently been seen trying to teach her dog Molly how to surf.
 

Leslie Escudero

Leslie has been a veterinary technician since 2002. She is shown here with her beloved dog Mo whom she adopted 4 years ago. She also has 2 cats, Stash and Bonsai. Leslie has worked at Scripps Ranch Veterinary Hospital since September 2006. She enjoys watching movies and decorating her home which she shares with her husband Ferdie.
 

Kendra Bettis

Kendra joined the Scripps Ranch Veterinary team in June of 2008. She has one precious canine son named Louee "Goose", and a Bearded Dragon named Einstein. Kendra hopes to attend Western Veterinary School in the near future. She stays busy by going to school and planning a summer wedding to her fiancé Pablo. Kendra enjoys waterskiing, riding Harleys and trying out new types of cuisine. She is happy to be a part of the Scripps Ranch team and has enjoyed meeting all the wonderful patients and their families.
 

Josh Millerd

Josh completed the Regional Occupational Program for veterinary technicians in 1998. He began working with us in 2003 as a relief technician, then went to full-time in November 2007. His out of office hours are often filled with animals, both his own and other people’s, as he does in-home support care for many pets. He has a Jack Russell Terrier named Russell, and a Siamese/Cornish Rex kitty named Nigel. He is an avid fan of off-roading and snowboarding.
